NORDIC SKI TRIP R.S.V.P. FOR FEB. 8-10!

Hello Crew Families! We are pleasEd to announce the details for the 2019 HHSRA Nordic Ski Trip! If you are concerned about not having skied before, fear not—we will have two experienced ski instructors on our trip and our destination caters to all skills and abilities. As two of the most challenging sports out there, nordic skiing and rowing go hand in hand (for example, in the winter, Craftsbury switches over from world-class sculling to nordic skiing). We’re excited to try out this new approach towards cross training and we hope that we get full participation on this trip! The Destination This year we will be traveling to Jackson, NH for a weekend of skiing. It is about 4 hours from Hingham depending on traffic. Jackson is home to the Jackson XC cross country ski facility. It is one of the top rated Cross Country ski areas in the east. Have a look: https://www.jacksonxc.org/ The Accommodation Nancy and Ross Kerber have graciously offered to host us at The Drifters, a private ski lodge just minutes from Jackson XC. The lodge has a variety of accommodation and sleeping quarters. There is a kitchen at the lodge so we will be holding sit down style meals, with members of the team helping out in the kitchen. There is also a games room. Our Activities On Saturday and Sunday, Coach Rosamund, Coach Sara, Jack Chapin will lead us through the trails. Don't worry if you do not have experience skiing, Coach Sara and Jack are ski instructors and will have you cruising along in no time! When we are not skiing we'll play some games and have some time to relax.

Chaperoning Jack Chapin, Rosamund Conroy, Sara Miller and Logan Greenlee will all be chaperoning the trip. We need a few more adventurous parents to join this merry band! Please contact Logan Greenlee if you’d like to join us. Key Dates and Times Friday February 8th - 3:00 PM Departure from the High School Sunday February 10th - 5:30 - 6:00 PM Arrival @ HHS Cost The price for the ski trip will be $300. This price includes, accommodation for two nights, equipment rental, trail tickets, transportation, most food and coaching.
