Dear Crew Families,

Hingham High School Rowing has been in existence since 2006 and we’ve participated in the parade nearly every 4th since the beginning of the team’s start. Last year we won the Most Patriotic award for best float. The stakes are high to secure another win.

One of the new board members, Shaun Hennessy, has been working overtime to refurbish the boat trailer, including a paint job with the exceedingly hard to locate “Hingham Red” paint color. The new parents’ captains have also been working hard to match this year’s parade theme, “Cheers for volunteers”. Our crew team theme is focused on an exceptional town volunteer without whom our team and Hingham Maritime would not be in existence, the late Ginny Gray.

The most important part of the float however are the rowers. We have about 20 rowers confirmed to ride on the float so far. It would be great to double that number.

Please let the new team captains know if you can join the team at 8am at our yet to be assigned starting point (last year it was on the corner of Pleasant and Downing St. across from the Hingham Congregational Church) to prepare riding in the parade which starts at 10am. The parade ends at the Station Street parking lot. If you haven’t already, please confirm your participation to ride on the float with any of the captains below: Lauren Colby - Leah Humphrey - Lucy Nash - Eamon Flynn - Reed Schilb - Tucker Watson - If you ordered a T-shirt, please see the pick up information below. Happy Fourth! Jack Chapin President, HHSRA
