Abi Kornet

Abi first coached Hingham Boys Crew from 2015 to 2019 and returned in 2022, resuming her role as Boys Novice Coach. She loves introducing athletes to rowing, teaching them effective movement, mental toughness, and the mindset to embrace challenges. With each new group of novices, her goals are simple: that they fall in love with the sport, have fun, and build confidence.

Coming from a family of rowers, Abi started sculling when she was 11 before switching to sweep rowing at Northfield Mt Hermon. She trained at various camps which led to rowing for Community Rowing, Inc (CRI) under head coach Ethan Curran, competing in major regattas including Club Nationals and Canadian Henley. She was later recruited by Connecticut College. After 11 years in NYC, Abi moved back home to Cohasset in 2014, coaching rowing to youth and adults at Cohasset Maritime Institute before joining the HHSRA coaching staff. When she's not coaching, Abi owns and operates an established business working with dogs.
