 Head of the Charles Regatta

Sunday, October 17th

The Head of the Charles Regatta (HOCR) is the largest 3-day rowing event in the world.

Thousands of athletes travel from all over the world, from high school to Olympic level, to compete in this prestigious race. The event typically draws 250,000 spectators over the course of the weekend.

Only select top boats from our team will be competing.

 ATHLETE INFO

Only athletes racing should be in front of the school at 6:15am.

There will be no return bus as athletes generally return home with their families or other carpool.

Athletes who would like to come cheer on their teammates and watch the races will need to arrange their own transportation, as bus seats are reserved for competing athletes. (We strongly recommend carpooling or taking public transportation.) Please see below for more information.

 RACE SCHEDULE

Event 50 — 9:05 am — Women's Youth Eights (Bow #64)

Event 52 — 10:02 am — Women's Youth Fours (Bow #50)

VENUE / RACE LOCATION / PARKING

Race Venue:

Charles River

Cambridge, MA

Parking Info:

Parking options for the race can be found HERE. Due to traffic and limited parking options, we suggest carpooling where possible or using public transportation.

Spectator Viewing / Hingham Meetup Spot:

Families and athletes not rowing who want to meet up to watch the race together can meet at the Eliot Bridge (opposite side of the Cambridge Boat Club). This is a fantastic spot to watch the races because it abuts the sharpest turn on the course - which is where a lot of the action takes place! It is also the final bridge of the course. Additionally, this location is convenient to parking areas and there are many good spots to get great pictures.

There are a number of other great viewing locations along the Charles for watching the races, but some of the best spots are the FALS Bar near the finish line (beer, wine, and cocktail garden, the Iconic Eliot Bridge, and Reunion Village). More information about viewing the races is available HERE. All of the races can also be viewed via the live webcast: HOCR Livestream.
