VENUE / RACE LOCATION / PARKING

Race Venue:

The Glastonbury Boathouse

252 Welles Street

Glastonbury, CT 06033

Spectator Parking (please read carefully):

There will be NO parking available at 252 Welles St. This lot is strictly for shell trailers and food crews.

There is a public parking lot for spectators located at 193 Welles St. If this lot is full, there are a variety of lots in the area along Main St that can also be used, including the Glastonbury Town Hall. The Glastonbury Riverfront Park path will take you straight to the boathouse (about a 10-15 min walk). Please follow all signage and rules around the lots. Note: The parking area at 300 Welles St is not available to spectators due to another event. Limited handicap parking is available at 200 Welles St.

Spectating:

Rowing families will have full access to the park to watch racing. (Please respect the park and keep things clean as well as be respectful of other members of the public who may be using the park.) The finish line to the race is located in front of the boathouse, just south of the dock. As a reminder, racing in the fall is a time trial with boats starting separately from each other and racing for the fastest time. The order boats finish is not the order they place.

There is also the opportunity to watch racing from the Rte 3 / Putnam Bridge. There is a walking path to and across the bridge that stands about 80 feet in the air, providing an overhead view of the racing below. There is a parking lot across from 449 Naubuc Ave in Glastonbury. The walk to the top of the bridge is about a mile from the parking lot. You can use bikes and scooters along this path. The bridge path will allow you to watch the starting like of the novice race.
