Novice Camp is the best way to transition to high school level racing. If you are brand new to rowing, it’s a chance to learn the basics in a hands on, relaxed environment. It's also a great way to try out rowing before the regular season begins.

 

If you’ve done recreational sculling before, it’s a great opportunity to transition to sweep rowing in racing shells and focus on single blade work. The more participation we have in freshmen camp the faster we can get the whole team up to racing speed.

 

The camp is open to any athlete enrolled at HHS for the 2018/19 school year who is in their first year of rowing.  No experience is necessary as the lessons will cover all the basics and more.

The Novice Skills Camp will run weekdays from Monday, August 20 - Friday, August 24 from 4PM - 6PM at the Hingham Maritime Center. Program cost is $150.
