HHSRA COACHING OPPORTUNITIES

The Hingham High School Rowing Association is always looking for talented coaches to manage, motivate and lead our successful high school rowing teams.

A Hingham High School Rowing Coach will be a leader / coach who is focused on the development and maintenance of the ‘good vibes’ and tradition of excellence present in rowing at Hingham High School. S/he will generate the enthusiasm as a member of the coaching staff servicing over 100 high school athletes. S/he will work with an active, experienced and invested board and Program Director. The HHSRA Rowing Coach will be a coach for the Hingham High rowing program. Hingham High currently has several boys coaches and girls coaches – novice, junior varsity and varsity levels.

The ideal candidate is organized, optimistic, engaged and works exceptionally well with teams. The position reports to the HHSRA Program Director, who values positive energy and a can-do problem-solving attitude. This person will be a leader and mentor to student athletes, promote and assist coaches in the creation of strong coaching plans, and develop crews into racing form for fall and spring regattas. S/he is well supported by an active board, boatman, and a late model rowing fleet and equipment, budget and town facilities that support the fall and spring racing seasons as well as a winter training program. Compensation is commensurate with experience and is paid weekly from August 15 – June 01.

The Hingham High School Rowing Association promotes and supports High School Varsity and Junior Varsity Crew for Hingham Public High School Girls and Boys in grades 9-12. We compete with public and private schools in the New England area. Our on- water training grounds are the beautiful Hingham waterfront and surrounding estuarial rivers. We compete in both Fall and Spring, and train indoors during the Winter. Our Team size ranges from 80-100 student-athletes depending on season/year. High School Rowing is a growing sport with opportunities for every athlete. Our fleet consists of over $500,000 in capital equipment and over 15 late model rowing shells.
